GATE Screening: The Escondido Union School District is pleased to continue to offer the Gifted and Talented Education program. For GATE identification, all 2nd-grade students will have the opportunity to participate in universal screening in November. In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students to be GATE screened if they were not previously screened in grades 3 through 8. Parents can pick up a Parent Background and Input Form in the school’s front office and should return it to the school by Friday, October 18. A school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November. Parent notification letters will be mailed to all 2nd-grade families as well as families of students who are currently Provisional the week of October 7th. Conway PTA invites families to an all ages Movie Night Friday September 20! The movie that they will be showing is Inside Out 2. This service allows students to have access to the dental care without having to leave school campus and resume classroom activities within minutes. Latino Literacy - Cuentos Familiares Session 1 We are so excited to host our first series of Cuentos Familiares workshop series of this school year at Conway! Join us this Wednesday, September 4th at 8:15 am in room 5 Participants will the opportunity to read bilingual books rich in Hispanic literature and then share the stories with their children at home. Enrolled participants will borrow books, receive craft materials and guidance in creating meaningful family crafts. *Registration and materials will be provided the day of the first session, Wednesday September 4. This workshop series will take place every Wednesday for 9 weeks.
