Hello Rose Community,
Parent-Teacher Conferences - Thank you Rose families for participating in the parent-teacher conferences last week. It is important information that our teachers must share with you for a continued home-school partnership and the academic success of all our students. Parents, if you were unable to meet with your child’s teacher, it’s not too late! Please reach out to your child’s teacher and make that 20 minute appointment or you can contact the office and we’d be happy to help you. As always, thank you for your continued support.
Scholastic Book Fair - The Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success! Thank you for stopping by the library and supporting our annual book fair. It is always an exciting event for our school and promotes our library and love for reading!
Fall Festival - Rose will be having a fall festival on Thursday, October 30, from 5-7 pm. There will be crafts, themed tables with treats, food trucks, fall photo ops, a Día de los Muertos Ofrenda, and much more. Costumes are optional for students, but guidelines on costumes need to be adhered. No masks, fake blood, gore, or weapons. Students must be able to move freely and be safe.
Yearbooks! - Don’t Miss Out—Yearbooks on Sale! Capture all the special moments of this school year with our 2025-2026 yearbook! Follow this link to order now and enjoy 10% off through October 31. Lock in your copy today so your student can treasure these memories for years to come.
Tardies - Parents, we really need your support! We have seen a big increase in students arriving late. It is vital that students arrive at school on time. Arriving late, even a few minutes, makes an impact on students. They often miss out on key instructional time and other opportunities, such as breakfast and classroom routines at the start of the day. In addition, as part of our Every Day Counts attendance campaign, students with outstanding attendance help their class earn rewards and are entered into drawings for prizes. Please make an extra effort to ensure they are dropped off on time. We thank you in advance for your support.
Gifted and Talented Education Program - EUSD is pleased to continue to offer the Gifted and Talented Education program. For GATE identification, all 2nd-grade students will have the opportunity to participate in universal screening in November. In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students not previously screened in grades 3 through 8 to be screened for GATE eligibility. Parents can pick up the Parent Background and Input Form in the school’s front office and should return it to the school by Friday, October 17. Our school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November. For more information, please visit our district website or stop by our school office.
EXPLORE After School Classes - Our EXPLORE enrichment classes have been fantastic and our students are excitedly participating in many of the classes being offered. Thank you parents for signing up your students and supporting the learning! As a reminder, students need to be picked up at the parking lot gate at 3:35 pm with the exception of the Musical Theatre class which dismisses at 4:05 pm. Our first Rugby games begin this Saturday, October 18, at Rincon Middle School. Go Dolphins!
Volunteer POD - Parents, we need your help. We are once again starting up our weekly Volunteer POD. This will take place on Wednesdays, in room 24. Volunteering your time impacts our school community in amazing ways! We hope you will be able to join us starting at 8:00 AM.
Parking Lot Exit - As a reminder, during arrival and dismissal, drivers may only turn right out of our school parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation and support regarding this very important expectation.
Breakfast and Lunch Menus: All EUSD students have access to no-cost breakfast and lunch. Families can view our new online menus. Select your school and menu to see what is being served every day.
Join our PTA! - Our fabulous PTA needs your support! Membership is $10 per family and flyers were sent home last week. The PTA, or the Parent Teacher Association, is a network of parents, teachers, administrators, and community volunteers devoted to the educational success of our students and the promotion of family engagement in our school. The PTA sponsors and organizes family events, plans fundraisers, and funds programs such as art assemblies. In every endeavor, our PTA volunteers work together to enrich the lives of our students.
That is all for now - have a great week!
