Make A Splash

Good Afternoon Rose Community,

Spring EXPLORE After School Enrichment Classes Begin Tomorrow, January 26  - Our Spring after-school enrichment and intervention classes begin this week, January 26, 2026 through March 27, 2026.  Families should have received and completed a permission form for your student to attend. Classes dismiss at 3:35 pm.  Students are to be picked up inside the parking lot gate. If you have questions, please check in with our school office, we will be happy to help. It is not too late to sign up for an after school EXPLORE class!

Spiritwear Order Forms - Order forms for school spirit wear were sent home with students last week.  You have the option of purchasing t-shirts, pullover hoodies, or zip-up hoodies with our NEW school logo!  If you are a PTA member, you will receive a $5 discount for each item ordered. Orders need to have exact change and must be turned in to the school office no later than Friday, January 30.

School of Choice - The School of Choice window is open through January 30, 2026. If you wish to apply to have your child attend a school(s) other than their school of residence beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, apply online.  Applications will NOT be accepted after the January 30 deadline.  Once your application is successfully submitted, you will receive an email confirmation. A lottery will be conducted in April 2026. You will be notified by email in May 2026 regarding the results of the lottery.  Questions regarding the School Choice process should be directed to the school office or to Integrated Student Supports at 760-432-2247.

Early Education Enrollment is OPEN - New Student Enrollment is now open for Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Special Education Preschool. EUSD offers a full-day Transitional Kindergarten program to bridge the path between Preschool and Kindergarten. For the 2026-2027 school year, children are eligible for TK if their date of birth is between September 2, 2021, and September 1, 2022. Students applying for Kindergarten must be age 5 on or before September 1, 2026. Students in EUSD TK and Kindergarten programs are eligible to participate in their school’s optional Expanded Learning program. The Expanded Learning program provides before-and after-school student care, from 6:30 a.m. to the morning bell and from the dismissal bell to 6:00 p.m. To find your neighborhood school of residence, use our online school locator tool. For questions regarding Special Education Preschool or about your student’s Special Education needs for next school year, contact the team at spedsupport@eusd.org.

Parent Contact Information - Parents, if your contact information has changed (phone numbers, email address, mailing address, emergency contacts, etc), please inform our office staff as soon as possible.  We need to ensure that we have your most current information in case of student emergencies.

Resources for Food Assistance - We want to make sure families are aware of local resources that offer free food and support for those who may need it. Here are a few options available in our community:

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help connecting with these resources.

Safe Driving/Neighbor Driveways - Parents, we have seen an increase in families not adhering to the speed limits, traffic signals, and parking lot signs in and around the school in addition to drivers blocking the driveways of our school neighbors.  It is imperative for everyone’s safety that you safely drive to school and be respectful of the homes of our neighbors.

Parking Lot Exit - As a reminder, during arrival and dismissal, drivers may only turn right out of our school parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation and support regarding this very important expectation.

YMCA Early Release Reminder - Students enrolled in the YMCA program are expected to participate in the full day program every day per CA State Legislature and Education Code.  Early release sign out begins at 4:00 pm. Parents/guardians of students enrolled in the YMCA have received notification with a reminder of these guidelines.

Yearbooks! - Make This Year Unforgettable! Don’t miss your chance to relive all the laughter, fun, and memories from this school year! Grab your yearbook and see all your friends’ smiling faces (and maybe even a funny photo or two). Order yours today before they’re gone! Order your Rose Yearbook Here!

From the Nurse - Does your student have a doctor's note with activity restrictions? Please email the Dr note to  our Nurse at otanzillo@eusd.org or roseenrollment@eusd.org. If you have any additional questions/concerns, call our health office to speak to the nurse at 760-432-2495. Office Hours: 7:30-4:00 pm.

Volunteer POD - Parents, we need your help. We are once again starting up our weekly Volunteer POD. This will take place on Wednesdays, in room 24. Volunteering your time impacts our school community in amazing ways! We hope you will be able to join us starting at 8:00 AM.

Join our PTA! - Our fabulous PTA needs your support! Membership is $10 per family and flyers were sent home last week.  The PTA, or the Parent Teacher Association, is a network of parents, teachers, administrators, and community volunteers devoted to the educational success of our students and the promotion of family engagement in our school. The PTA sponsors and organizes family events, plans fundraisers, and funds programs such as art assemblies.  In every endeavor, our PTA volunteers work together to enrich the lives of our students.

Breakfast and Lunch Menus:  All EUSD students have access to no-cost breakfast and lunch.  Families can view our new online menus.  Select your school and menu to see what is being served every day.

That is all for now - have a great week!
