ROSE MISSION
At Rose School we work collectively to build an inclusive community which provides students with opportunities for choice, self-expression, and ownership of their academic and social learning.
ROSE VISION
By nurturing passions and promoting creativity we aim to build a collaborative community that values academic excellence while empowering individuals to make a meaningful impact on the world.
Read Across America Week - Each year, National Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 2nd, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. This annual event is designed to encourage reading in children and is fostered through schools. Rose will be celebrating all next week! There will be a different optional activity each day during the week that students may participate in. Monday, 3/2, students can wear animal print. Tuesday, 3/3 is superhero spirit wear. Wednesday, 3/4 wear neon colors. Thursday, 3/5 wear a positive message shirt. Friday, 3/6 wear travel or destination clothing. It’s gonna be a great week!
Report Cards - Trimester 2 has been completed. Report cards will be going home with students this Friday, March 6, 2026. Please ensure you ask your student for their envelope. This is an important opportunity for parents to be informed about student progress.
K-2 - Reading Screener - All students in grade K-2 recently were given a reading screener. This important tool will be used by teachers to support students in their classrooms. Reports and more information will be coming home sometime during the month of March. We are also looking forward to putting together an informational meeting for families to understand more about this assessment.
Third Grade Families/Jack and the Beanstalk Play - All third grade classrooms will be performing the Jack and the Beanstalk play this Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 6:00 pm in the Multipurpose Room. Please mark your calendars to attend. Students have been working so hard to put on an amazing show for you. Please ensure your student is here by 5:45 pm that day. If you have any questions, please call the office.
Kona Ice - Kona Ice returns to Rose this Thursday, March 5. The shaved ice treat is available for purchase after school.

Families are invited to enjoy more than 100 hands-on activities, exciting experiments, live performances, reptiles, rockets, prizes, and more. This FREE community event is perfect for all ages and a great way to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Petco Park in San Diego.
From the Nurse - Winter Weather brings coughs, colds, and the FLU. EUSD and CDC guidelines advise to be able to return to school and resume normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true: You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).* and your symptoms are getting better overall.
TIPS TO STAY HEALTHY:
Stay home when you are sick
Wash hands often
Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
Please remember to call the attendance office when your child is sick
Any questions, please contact the nurse at 760-432-2495 ext. 22841
Early Education Enrollment is OPEN - New Student Enrollment is now open for Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Special Education Preschool. EUSD offers a full-day Transitional Kindergarten program to bridge the path between Preschool and Kindergarten. For the 2026-2027 school year, children are eligible for TK if their date of birth is between September 2, 2021, and September 1, 2022. Students applying for Kindergarten must be age 5 on or before September 1, 2026. Students in EUSD TK and Kindergarten programs are eligible to participate in their school’s optional Expanded Learning program. The Expanded Learning program provides before-and after-school student care, from 6:30 a.m. to the morning bell and from the dismissal bell to 6:00 p.m. To find your neighborhood school of residence, use our online school locator tool. For questions regarding Special Education Preschool or about your student’s Special Education needs for next school year, contact the team at spedsupport@eusd.org.
Parent Contact Information - Parents, if your contact information has changed (phone numbers, email address, mailing address, emergency contacts, etc), please inform our office staff as soon as possible. We need to ensure that we have your most current information in case of student emergencies.
Resources for Food Assistance - We want to make sure families are aware of local resources that offer free food and support for those who may need it. Here are a few options available in our community:
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help connecting with these resources.
Safe Driving/Neighbor Driveways - Parents, we have seen an increase in families not adhering to the speed limits, traffic signals, and parking lot signs in and around the school in addition to drivers blocking the driveways of our school neighbors. It is imperative for everyone’s safety that you safely drive to school and be respectful of the homes of our neighbors.
Parking Lot Exit - As a reminder, during arrival and dismissal, drivers may only turn right out of our school parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation and support regarding this very important expectation.
YMCA Early Release Reminder - Students enrolled in the YMCA program are expected to participate in the full day program every day per CA State Legislature and Education Code. Early release sign out begins at 4:00 pm. Parents/guardians of students enrolled in the YMCA have received notification with a reminder of these guidelines.
Volunteer POD - Parents, we need your help. We are once again starting up our weekly Volunteer POD. This will take place on Wednesdays, in room 24. Volunteering your time impacts our school community in amazing ways! We hope you will be able to join us starting at 8:00 AM.
Join our PTA! - Our fabulous PTA needs your support! Membership is $10 per family and flyers were sent home last week. The PTA, or the Parent Teacher Association, is a network of parents, teachers, administrators, and community volunteers devoted to the educational success of our students and the promotion of family engagement in our school. The PTA sponsors and organizes family events, plans fundraisers, and funds programs such as art assemblies. In every endeavor, our PTA volunteers work together to enrich the lives of our students.
Breakfast and Lunch Menus: All EUSD students have access to no-cost breakfast and lunch. Families can view our new online menus. Select your school and menu to see what is being served every day.
That is all for now - have a great week!
