ROSE MISSION
At Rose School we work collectively to build an inclusive community which provides students with opportunities for choice, self-expression, and ownership of their academic and social learning.
ROSE VISION
By nurturing passions and promoting creativity we aim to build a collaborative community that values
academic excellence while empowering individuals to make a meaningful impact on the world.
TK Parents and Parking Lot Pick Up - Please remember that there is NO parking along the fence on the south side of the driveway in our parking lot. Please remain in your cars if you are waiting to pick up a TK student after school. If you would prefer to get out of your car, please utilize both parking lots, to park safely. Thank you!
CAST Testing- Testing continues this week for students in 5th Grade this week. Please ensure your student arrives at school on time, is well rested, and has had breakfast. If your student eats breakfast at school, please ensure they are here at 7:35 am so they have enough time to eat before the 7:55 am bell. Thank you in advance for your support.
Physical Fitness Testing/Grades 5 and 7 - Physical Fitness testing is underway for 5th and 7th-grade students as required by the state. The main goal of the Physical Fitness Test, also called the PFT, is to help students start lifelong habits of regular physical activity. For complete details, view the official PFT notification here.
Star Wars Day/Spirit Day - Our next school spirit day is tomorrow, Monday, May 4, 2026 to celebrate Star Wars Day. Students may wear their favorite Star Wars shirt/gear. This is an optional activity to promote school spirit. To the best parents in the galaxy, May the Force be with you, always! Thank you for all you do, your patience and support make you the true Jedis in our eyes! Have a fantastic May the 4th!
School Staff Appreciation Week (May 11-15) - Dear Families, as we approach the Week of May 11-15, we want to take a moment to honor and celebrate California Day of the Teacher, National School Nurse Day, and Education Support Professionals Day. This week is about honoring and celebrating the work that teachers, nurses, and education support professionals do every day, and the support and guidance they give to our students. Teachers and support staff do so much more than teach—they inspire, nurture, and believe in our students. Please consider sharing a kind word, a note of appreciation, or a simple “Thank you” to let them know how much their hard work means to our school community.
Summer is on the horizon: As we head into the final month of the 2025-2026 school year, be sure to stay connected with your school site for the schedule of end-of-the-year events, including on-campus promotion ceremonies and the collection of all district-issued materials such as textbooks and iPads. Every school day counts when it comes to student success, and we appreciate your support of consistent student attendance for a strong finish to the school year. The last day of school for students is Wednesday, June 10. It is a minimum day for students with dismissal at 12:10 pm.
2026-2027 Before and After School Program - The Expanded Learning Program opened the 2026-27 Before and After-School Program Interest Form last Tuesday, April 14, 2026. An email with details and a link to the form was sent to all current EUSD families. The form was also posted on the district website. Please note that enrollment is not first-come, first-served. Our programs are funded through the California Department of Education (CDE), and priority enrollment will be given to foster/homeless youth, students eligible for free or reduced price meals, and English learners. If interest exceeds space available, a lottery will be conducted. While the interest form will remain open throughout the 2026-27 school year, the first round of applications will be reviewed in May. The deadline for form submission to be considered for Round 1 is Friday, May 8, 2026. Here is the link to the interest form 2026-27 Before and After School Program (BASP) Interest Form

From the Nurse/Health Office:
Breakfast/Healthy Habits - Studies show that eating breakfast regularly improves attendance, raises test scores, enhances concentration, and lowers behavioral issues in the classroom. The phrase "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" isn't just a saying; it produces better brain function, memory, and attention, giving kids energy to start their day. Parents, if you are running late to drop off your student in the mornings and your student will not have time to sit and eat breakfast in the cafeteria, please remind them to stop by the breakfast grab-n-go cart in front of the school office/lunch tables to get a breakfast snack on their way to class. We want to ensure students are learning at their best!
Water/hydration - Please ensure your student has a water bottle with the increase in temperatures coming. Staff encourages students to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Medications, Illnesses, or Questions - If your student requires medications, is sick, or you have questions for our nurse, please do not hesitate to reach out by contacting the office.
Lost & Found - Our lost and found is overflowing again. If your student is missing sweaters or jackets, please have them check the lost and found or stop by to check the cart. Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of May.
Resources for Food Assistance - We want to make sure families are aware of local resources that offer free food and support for those who may need it. Here are a few options available in our community:
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help connecting with these resources.
Safe Driving/Neighbor Driveways - Parents, we have seen an increase in families not adhering to the speed limits, traffic signals, and parking lot signs in and around the school in addition to drivers blocking the driveways of our school neighbors. It is imperative for everyone’s safety that you safely drive to school and be respectful of the homes of our neighbors.
Parking Lot Exit - As a reminder, during arrival and dismissal, drivers may only turn right out of our school parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation and support regarding this very important expectation.
Volunteer POD - Parents, we need your help. We are once again starting up our weekly Volunteer POD. This will take place on Wednesdays, in room 24. Volunteering your time impacts our school community in amazing ways! We hope you will be able to join us starting at 8:00 AM.
Join our PTA! - Our fabulous PTA needs your support! Membership is $10 per family and flyers were sent home last week. The PTA, or the Parent Teacher Association, is a network of parents, teachers, administrators, and community volunteers devoted to the educational success of our students and the promotion of family engagement in our school. The PTA sponsors and organizes family events, plans fundraisers, and funds programs such as art assemblies. In every endeavor, our PTA volunteers work together to enrich the lives of our students.
Breakfast and Lunch Menus: All EUSD students have access to no-cost breakfast and lunch. Families can view our new online menus. Select your school and menu to see what is being served every day.
That is all for now - have a great week!
